旧古河庭園　
Old Furukawa Garden

【国指定名勝旧古河庭園】

旧古河庭園は、1919（大正8年）に完成した、古河家三代目当主・古河虎之助によって作られた大正期の庭園です。
イギリス人建築家のジョサイア・コンドルにより設計された洋館と洋風庭園、京都の庭師・植治こと小川治平が作庭作庭した日本庭園が織りなす和と洋の調和が魅力。現存する近代庭園の中でも極めて良好に保存されている事例として、2006年（平成18年）に国の名勝指定をうけました。
現在では、洋風庭園で約100種類199株のバラが春と秋に咲き誇り、バラの名所としても有名です。
5月11日（金）に行くましたが、既に盛りは過ぎた様子で、花びらが綺麗ではなく、思ったよりバラの株数が少なく思えました。

【Country designated scenic spot Old Furukawa Garden】

The former Furukawa Garden is a garden of the Taisho era, which was completed in 1919 (Taisho 8th), made by the 3rd generation furukawa family owner · Toranosuke Furukawa.
The harmony between Japanese and Western is attractive as the Japanese and Western harmony interwoven with Western-style garden designed by British architect Josiah Condor, Western-style garden, Japanese garden created by artist's garden worker Kiyoshi Ogawa by Kyoto. In 2006 (2006) I was nominated by the nation's scenic spots as an example of being extremely well preserved among existing modern gardens.
Currently, roses of roughly 100 kinds of 199 roses are blooming in spring and autumn in the Western style garden, and they are famous as rose places.
I went there on May 11th (Friday), but it seems that the prosperity is already over, the flower petals are not beautiful, I thought that the number of roses was fewer than I thought.
