【池上本門寺の石段】＝大田区文化財

この石段は、加藤清正の寄進によって造営されたと伝えられ、
９６段に構築されており、貴重な石造遺構である。

【池上梅園の由来】　　　

池上梅園は池上本門寺の西に位置し、丘陵斜面等を利用した閑静な庭園です。戦前まで北半分は日本画家伊藤深水氏の自宅兼アトリエで「月白山荘」と呼ばれていました戦災で焼失しました。
戦後、築地の料亭経営者小倉氏が南半分を拡張し、別邸として使用していました。その後ご遺族の意思により、庭園として残すことを条件に東京都に譲渡されました。
その後、昭和５３年に大田区に移管、紅梅を中心に植林・拡張をすすめ、現在では大田区の区花である梅は３７０本（白梅１５０本、紅梅２２０本）を数えるまでになりました。

【Stone steps of Ikegami Honmonji temple】 = Ota Ward Cultural Property

This stone stairway was told that it was built by the donation of Kato Kiyomasa,
It is built in 96 stages, and it is a valuable masonry remains.

【Origin of Ikegami plum garden】

Ikegami Umezono is located in the west of Ikegami Honmonji Temple, a quiet garden utilizing hilly slopes and the like. Until the war, the northern half was burned down in the war damage by the Japanese artist Mr. Shimizu Itoh's home and studio at Atelier called "Tsukishi Sanso."
After the war, Mr. Ogura, a Tower in Tsukiji, expanded the southern half and used it as a separate residence. Afterwards, due to the will of the bereaved family, it was transferred to Tokyo on condition that it was left as a garden.
After that, we transferred to Ota Ward in Showa 53, promoted afforestation and expansion mainly in red plum, and now it is counted 370 plums (flower plum 150 plum, plum plum 220 plants) which is a ward flower of Ota ward .
