Bonsai village

Bonsai village

Many planting craftsmen and bonsai masters lived in Shinmeicho (Komagome), Sugamo etc. centering on Tokyo's dumpling slope (present · Sengaki) known as a chrysanthemum doll's sight from the end of the Meiji era to the Taisho era,
From the bitter experiences of the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, we requested a bonsai-made ideal village such as a large land necessary for bonsai cultivation, fresh water and air, to the current location (Bonsai village: Bonsai town in Saitama city, Kita Ward) I have migrated out of the group.
Bonsai village at the time of immigration was a wasteland known as "Gentaro mountain", 30 large pine trees were growing only on the premises of the vineyard and it seems that it was very difficult to prepare.
In 1928, a bonsai village association was formed, and along with that, as a condition that can be said to be the convention of migration to Bonsai village at that time, "to cultivate more than 10 bonsai pots", "the fence is a hedge , "Opening the door", "not building a two-story building", etc., established a separate blooming place of flowers and greenery that is slightly different from the general town, and in the present bonsai village I have reached.
