【太田道灌：菩提寺（芳林寺）】

　岩槻城は、室町時代に古河公方足利成氏の執事扇谷（上杉家）持朝の命を受け、
　長禄元年（1457）、太田道真・道灌父子が築城したと伝えられる。
　文明十八年（1486）、太田道灌が神奈川県伊勢原にあった主君・上杉定正の館で
　暗殺された時、父の道真と道灌の養子、太田資家（岩槻城主）が伊勢原に行き、
　道灌の遺骨や遺髪を貰い受けてきたと言われている。
　そして、それらは埼玉県生越町の龍穏寺と芳林寺に分けられて丁重に葬られ、
　今日まで供養されている。
